Wow, we sure have had some great sun rises and sets lately. I get to see them almost every day going to and from work at my new job. The new job has kept me jumping, but at least it's commuting distance from home. If I had studded tires, I would be riding to and from work already, but the funds just haven't been there to invest in a set. This spring I will for sure, since the days are longer, I won't need a head lamp. Another thing to invest in, I guess.

Congrats on the new job!! It's good to hear you have been thinking of commuting. Many of the roads around here have a layer of ice from all the nice days we have been having. The studded tire is an amazing thing.

Thanks for the post!!

Hey, I have an old set of 26 inch studded tires that still have some life in them if you had a bike to put them on?

Glad to see a post from you. Maybe we'll cross paths on our summer commutes this year!

Doug: thanks, but I don't have a 26" bike, just 700c and a 29er. Should have kept the old Rockhopper, but needed he coin for the 29er.Funny, but the guy that bought it commutes with it to his job - right around the corner from where I work, so I see it almost every day!

How do you know when the studded tyres are working. We've had some ice recently, but if I don't fall how do I know if I would have done?

Tim - They make a singing noise, the a slight grinding noise on ice. You most certainly know when they're gripping.

Thanks, Bill. This has been a great year for sun rise/set shots. Look at all the great ones Doug catches!
