Spring 2010

The warm weather and rain have created some great rapids on the local streams and rivers. The above was on Skyline Parkway this afternoon. I took the local scenic route and luckily had my camera with. I bet Doug got a good look at this same spot. The deer were also moving around a bit. The little guy up above was content to just check me out and was in no hurry to get out of the road. A nice afternoon, I must say.

If this weather keeps up, and I hope it does, the Munger will be clearing early. IMO thats a good thing. Plus, the rain has to be cleaning the roads some too.

Yes, I think this will help the roads a lot. The street cleaners were out here in town today cleaning the bike routes. I ride the road bike tomorrow for a change. I'm glad I have a bike stand to clean off all of the gunk I'll collect.

The ice broke free on all the local creeks on Tuesday. Monday they were covered with ice and silent. After the ice broke free, my commute was filled with the sound of rushing water all the way along Skyline. Including the falls in your picture. I really enjoy these few weeks when the snow melt and rains have the creeks full and running fast. This year it's a few weeks early.
